A Switch represents one on/off decision. It is useful for an optional service such as “Add engraving”. Shoppers can understand both the choice and its current state immediately.

The switch itself does not add artwork. Pair it with a placement and a rule when enabling the option should reveal a text or image field.

How to set it up

  1. Choose Add → Choice → Switch.
  2. Use an action-focused Label, such as “Add engraving”, and review the label for its on value.
  3. Set the default state. For an optional paid service, starting off lets the shopper choose it deliberately.
  4. Enable Extra price and enter the service fee if needed. It is charged only while the switch is on.
  5. Add a rule to show any dependent placement when the switch is on. Save and Preview both states.

Frequent uses

Use Switch for optional engraving, gift wrapping or a personalization upgrade. For engraving, connect it to a Text box through Rules.

Use a list-based choice when the shopper needs to select among several alternatives rather than turn one thing on or off.

Check before publishing

Confirm that the price appears when enabled and is removed when disabled. If the same service also has a charge on the dependent text field, check whether you intend both charges.

A Switch has fixed off/on states. It is not a list that automatically reads a Shopify Color or Size option.
