Engraved jewelry with JUNO

JUNO lets jewelry shoppers choose the metal and stone, add an engraving and see it on the piece before they buy. Engraving can be optional and priced, and it only appears when the shopper asks for it.

The example is the Cushion Ring from the JUNO dev store: a real JUNO template with the store's own renders, in the live demo on the homepage.

What the shopper does

  1. Pick the metal and the stone. Metals and stones are photo swatches. Each metal and stone combination has its own render, so the photo always matches the choice.
  2. Turn on engraving. Engraving is a switch, off by default. Turning it on adds $15 and reveals the engraving text field, through a rule.
  3. Type the engraving. The text appears on the ring in the chosen font as it is typed.
  4. Add to cart. The price on the page already includes the add-ons: gold adds $25 and engraving adds $15.

The preview combines the selected product photo with the shopper's placed text or artwork.

What the merchant gets

Each order arrives in the Shopify admin with:

  • The variant for the chosen metal and stone.
  • The engraving text and font as line-item properties.
  • A print-ready PNG for each configured print area, rendered at 300 DPI when calibrated and linked on the order.
  • Add-on prices charged at checkout, on top of the variant price.
  • Use the PNG as a design reference for engraving; prepare any files required by your engraving machine separately.

Use these guides to adapt the example to your products:

  • Image swatch — Show material and texture samples as selectable options, using reusable images from a Swatch palette.
  • Switch — Offer an on/off choice, reveal optional personalization and charge an extra price only when it is enabled.
  • Text box — Place a shopper’s name, initials or short message on the product and control its appearance and allowed length.
  • Product views — Match product photos to a view and Shopify option combination so shoppers see the item they are personalizing.
  • Swatch palettes — Create reusable material and color samples for Image swatch properties, with named photos that match your option values.
  • Rules & extra pricing — Show relevant properties with conditional rules and charge for optional personalization without confusing product prices and add-ons.
