A Checkbox list lets shoppers select more than one value from the same list. Use it when each option can be chosen independently.

Checkboxes collect choices; they do not place marks or artwork on the product. Pair them with placements and rules when an extra needs additional information.

How to set it up

  1. Choose Add → Choice → Checkbox list.
  2. Give the property a label that signals multiple selection, such as “Add extras”.
  3. For independent extras, leave Linked Shopify product option unlinked and add the values you offer.
  4. Review the default selections and whether the property is Required. Configure extra pricing only for the selections or service you intend to charge for.
  5. Save and Preview no selections, one selection and several selections together.

Frequent uses

  • Independent packaging extras, such as a gift box and a ribbon.
  • Several finishing services that can be combined.
  • Multiple preferences that your fulfillment team needs to see.

These examples collect the shopper’s requests. Configure and test any charges separately; a manual checkbox does not create a stocked Shopify product.

Check before publishing

Avoid using multiple selection to choose a single item’s size or material: the purchased Shopify variant has one combination of option values. Use Radio, Dropdown or a single-select Button for that decision.

Check the cart total when several priced values are selected and make sure order labels clearly identify each extra.
