A Radio property displays the available options together and lets the shopper choose one. It is useful when the differences between a few options should be visible without opening a menu.

Radio is a Choice property: its value is recorded with the configuration, and a linked Shopify option can select the product variant. The label is not drawn on the product.

How to set it up

  1. Choose Add → Choice → Radio in the template editor.
  2. Set a shopper-facing Label and a description explaining the decision, if needed.
  3. Link the appropriate Shopify product option, or leave it unlinked and add manual values.
  4. Review the Default value, Required setting and any extra prices.
  5. Save and Preview both a selected and an unanswered state, where your configuration allows one.

Frequent uses

Use Radio for a short choice such as Matte or Gloss, one of three packaging styles, or a small list of product formats. Link the field when the answer represents a real Shopify variant option; use manual values for additional instructions.

Use Checkbox list when several answers can apply at the same time.

Check before publishing

Keep options mutually exclusive and easy to compare. A very long list may be easier to use as a Dropdown. If the field changes a product’s appearance, configure the corresponding Product views rather than expecting the control to create a new image.
