A Design property places artwork from a merchant-created Design set on the product. Shoppers choose a design from the collection instead of uploading a file.

The Design set is the reusable library; the Design property decides where its chosen artwork appears in a particular template.

How to set it up

  1. Create a Design set with the artwork you want to offer.
  2. Choose Add → Placement → Design in the template editor and select the set under Design set.
  3. Position and size the placement. Choose a Preview shape; Original keeps the whole design, while other shapes crop it to fill the mask.
  4. Choose a Default design, or leave it as None — shopper picks. With no default, the editor can show the first design for layout, but the shopper starts with nothing selected.
  5. Review Required and the design-specific prices. Save and Preview every design.

Frequent uses

Offer illustrations for apparel, seasonal motifs for gifts or a curated collection of emblems. Combine a Design placement with Text box or Arc text when shoppers should add their own words around your artwork.

Use File upload for the shopper’s own artwork. Use Image swatch for material samples that belong in a selector.

Check before publishing

Design names are visible to shoppers and recorded with the order. Renaming a design updates the shared library wherever it is used.

A design-specific extra price applies when that design is selected; a design without its own price uses the placement’s Extra price, if set. Changing the selected set clears the previous default and design prices, so review them again.

An empty or deleted set leaves shoppers with nothing to choose. Check the connection whenever you reorganize your artwork library.
